My uncle is a wonderful person and was having chest pain. As the doctor proceeded with his heart cath, we found my uncle had 90% blockage within 2 of his main vessels. The doctor placed 2 stents and was literally a lifesaver. After I left work, I visited my uncle on 5S and began to realize just how severe his condition had been. As Meagan entered his patient room, she asked him 'are you ready to feel human again?' Her sense of humor immediately had a smile on my uncle's face and my aunt and I felt some relief. The compassion and genuineness she showed were reassuring. Her bedside manner was professional, yet relatable. She spoke as though she was someone we had previously known. Meagan's friendliness and calm demeanor were evident. She explained to both my uncle and our family what steps she was proceeding with during his care. Although her kindness was true, it was her compassion for her role as an RN and her patient that shined.
