Mederline works as the post-op nurse for our floor and because of it often flies under the radar with the patients who come to the floor after surgery and are still under the effects of anesthesia. She truly understands that caring makes all the difference in our patients and families experiences and outcomes and consistently provides a special connection of trust and emotional support. She is an educator at heart and loves to instill her knowledge towards a positive discharge plan. Mederline is also very spiritual and has a keen sense of knowing and understanding who may need spiritual support, often spending time at the bedside with a distressed patient over a prayer. And many times, without anyone even knowing, Mederline has followed up with her patients upon return home to ensure they are doing well and staying positive.
She is always accommodating the needs of the unit with a selfless spirit and inner drive and motivation to help our patients return to their optimal state of health. Mederline is a consummate team player and mentor to our new nurses. She has a quiet and modest way that would never call attention to all she does. She is continuously volunteering her time to contribute towards Broward Health's mission to serve our community, not only within our own hospital but with her outreach to the Haitian community serving meals every Sunday.
Mederline's best and worst attribute is to never say NO! To a fault, she is the most selfless person we know and truly exemplifies a DAISY Nurse through her extraordinary clinical skills and compassionate care she gives every day that makes an enormous difference in the lives of so many people lucky enough to be touched by her.
