This team cares for the toughest patient population in the hospital. They play a large role in our Leapfrog scores for 12 years in a row, patient experience, and quality outcomes. They have a diverse patient population with multiple disease processes to care for. Our team frequently takes a personal interest in our patients by taking home their clothes and washing them as they did for a patient with us for several months. They also collected books and gave them to our patient, who stayed with us over Christmas and delivered his favorite snacks to him weekly.

Our team was resilient through COVID-19, which was incredibly difficult and stressful. They spend long hours with difficult patients who struggle with dementia, sickness, and withdrawals. They have challenging situations on a daily basis and yet manage not to compromise safety or quality. They always look out for each other, and when one team member is struggling, they really want to help. Their care for our patients is evident daily with the celebrations we share on the unit and the beautiful comments our patients share on their surveys. Our team is making a difference, one patient at a time!
