First and foremost a patient and their loved ones need the feeling of relief when their caregiver emanates a strong feeling of competence. Megan does that when she walks into the room and immediately provides the necessary care. For 3 days she was very prompt and professional. She tells the patient and loved ones what she is doing and why (the immediate problem and the solutions). It is a great feeling to be confident that relief is on the way. We don't have any stories about teddy bears or any other fairy tales. We just know that we were in the hands of a consummate professional at a time that was exactly what we needed to calm our nerves and satisfy our concerns. If you are looking for extraordinary nurses, Megan is certainly one.
