I have watched Ms. White be a patient's shoulder to cry on when times got tough, comforting family members, educating new nurses, and always being the first person to respond when a patient is in crisis.
Ms. White is the most compassionate nurse I've ever met. She consistently puts patient safety first and is a patient advocate to the core. I have had the pleasure of working with her for two years and I have been able to learn so much from watching her work with patients and teaching me first hand. As an RN, I have watched Ms. White be a patient's shoulder to cry on when times got tough, comforting family members, educating new nurses and always being the first person to respond when a patient is in crisis. I know that as long as she is on the floor, I am part of a team. After recently participating in a Code Blue with her, I realized she is the perfect role model for the kind of nurse I want to become in the coming years. She assisted in all aspects of the patient care process such as vitals, IV access/fluid therapy, EKGs, inserting and removing the foley, cleaning up the patient after incontinence, explaining the procedures to the patient and their family, and being extremely knowledgeable about all patients on the floor while charging to maintain closed-loop communication with the doctors. Ms. White is what it means to be a good nurse and advocate for her patients and I could not be more honored to work alongside her and learn from her.
