I was admitted to the hospital from the Emergency Department on a Thursday. I had many complicated things going on and many tests were ordered. Melanie was my nurse 4 of the 7 days I was a patient. She was extremely attentive to large and small details of my care. She kept me comfortable at all times and anticipated my needs. She kept me informed about doctors coming and going and helped me with the medical terminology. She printed out handouts so that I could read about upcoming procedures. She always made me feel like I was her most important patient!

One day when I was finally coherent and very thankful for my progress, I thanked her tearfully for the care she had given me and my wife. She started to cry with me and I knew how much concern she had for me. Please recognize Melanie Kruse for her excellent nurturing care. She deserves the DAISY Award!
