A most grateful patient submitted the nomination to honor and thank Melissa for her thoughtful care. The in-patient referred to Melissa as a "second mom" because of her comforting words and reassurance during a time that can be scary for a young patient. Melissa makes the extra effort to check on the patient even when not under her care during her shift. It's this type of thoughtfulness that eases the nervous minds of patients and families at CHLA.
