November 2012 Honoree
melissa roesch, BSN, RN
Roesch began her Riley nursing career in 2010 after previously working as a special education teacher. She was nominated based on her ability to establish meaningful bonds with the family of an 11-year-old patient, building trust as their child was hospitalized.
Roesch's manager said "Melissa makes such a difference for all the families she cares for. No matter what roadblocks are seemingly laid in her way, she is able to find a solution. For this family, she created the possibility for them to go home. She went above and beyond expectations each and every shift."
