Melodin Trammel, RN
Mel had a young patient that failed the suicided screening but had a history of mental illness and signs of self-harm with cutting herself. Mel showed nothing but compassion for this patient. During this patient drifting off to sleep for her surgery, Mel was present at bedside and whispering in the patient's ear "You are beautiful, you have so much to live for", She took time to connect with this patient and give encouraging words to someone who needed to hear it. It was such an inspiration to everyone around her who witnessed this act of kindness. Mel is one of those nurses who we all look up to become of the kindness and compassion she shows to all.
