Mendy demonstrates care, compassion and enthusiasm for her patients and her job. One person noted how Mendy was creative in coming up with an alternative to ensure her patient was able to continue services through cardiac rehab. Another was a patient who utilized our pulmonary rehabilitative services: she noted that Mendy's positive encouragement helped her to continually challenge herself to do better each day, the patient dreaded seeing her time with Mendy come to an end. Finally, a colleague noted how friendly Mendy is to everyone, but especially her patients. She voices care and concern when a patient isn't feeling well and eases the fears of first-time patients to Cardiopulmonary Rehab.
Recently, at the Live Healthy Run, it was by all reports a miserable day weather-wise, but Mendy along with approximately sixty other running enthusiasts were there to do what they love, run. She finished in first place. A co-worker noticed her running back along the route and she thought it was to the car to get in out of the elements, but that was not the case. Mendy ran back to finish the race with one of her cardiac rehab patients who was doing her first ever 5K run. They finished arm in arm. This was a Mercy LiveUp moment for sure.
