My husband was admitted to the hospital in mid-December. I never leave his side when he is ill. I was trying to sleep in a straight-back chair and was extremely uncomfortable. Nobody seemed to notice how uncomfortable I was until Merlyn walked by our room and saw me. She immediately proceeded to find me a lounge-recliner chair because she observed that I was going to sleep at the hospital for as many nights as needed to support my husband. She also went and got me pillows and blankets. What a kind woman with a big heart! She would continue to check on me to make sure my needs were met. A few days later, the cafeteria closed early, so I couldn’t get anything to eat. Merlyn checked into our room that evening. I told her I didn’t get to the cafeteria before they closed, so SHE went and brought me some food!! She is very kind and checks on us daily. We have been here for eight days, and she always remembers us daily. We need more people in the world like Merlyn. I know the staff shortage is tough everywhere. I hope she will be recognized in a great way for what she has done and continues to do.
