Micah was responsible for caring for a Spanish speaking only patient who has been on our floor for almost a month battling cancer. She has been isolated in large part due to the language barrier and is quite often withdrawn and alone in her room. I witnessed Micah taking a significant amount of his morning today to help her load different applications on to her phone so she could access Spanish speaking alternatives for music, communications and television. His personal attention to her spiritual and emotional well-being is the essence of professional, compassionate care and a kindness this patient will remember.
