Michaela Ahern, RN

I was recently admitted to BIDMC for eight days. My experience was challenging, and I was struggling emotionally. The nursing staff is stellar, but one nurse went above and beyond to help calm my mind. Michaela Ahern advocated for me and took me outside for some much-needed fresh air and a change of scenery. We sat near the spring flowers so I could smell hyacinths instead of the hospital smells that had been so triggering for me. She talked to me about my family, distracting me from the four walls that were caving in on me inside. I am incredibly grateful to Michaela for her efforts. She is a gifted nurse in all the ways that matter most to her patients.
