Michelle found out it was the birthday of a young, very ill patient who had been hospitalized multiple times. He had been on the third floor for over two months. She coordinated to have pizza and a cake delivered. Michelle then gathered the nursing staff together to present him his special treat and sing “Happy Birthday”. The patient’s look of surprise was priceless - he radiated joy even though his body had been through so much. Michelle is an example of a great nurse and coworker. Great job, Michelle, on making his birthday not just another “sick day”.
