Michelle was amazing to my mom in PACU after a very long weekend in the hospital and a late in the day surgery. After a last-minute switch of the surgeon scheduled to do the surgery, my mother had a lot of anxiety before and after the procedure. Michelle was one of the most attentive nurses ever! When my mom's PACU stay was extended and there was a delay in moving her back to her room- Michelle went out of her way to find my sister and me and had us come down to PACU to be with my mom, immediately relieving her anxiety. She gave her great care and called for orders to manage her elevated BP instead of waiting until she was back on her floor. She also did small things that made a huge difference for my mom physically and emotionally. You have no idea how amazing a wet cloth, a chapstick (which Michelle applied for her a few times) and a drink feel after an incredibly long weekend of no food or drink. Knowing it had been a long day Michelle even offered to feed us, made sure we had chairs to rest and kept us informed of everything that was happening. Even when she didn't need to, Michelle wanted to transfer my mom to her nurse on her floor, when it would have been easier to have let someone else do it for her. Michelle Maxton was absolutely amazing and Bayhealth is incredibly blessed to have her on their team!
