Michelle exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Schneck Medical Center and truly works to put the patient first.
Michelle is an exemplary nurse. She has taken over the role of educator for the ambulatory departments and has taken over teaching the basic EKG class. Michelle is an excellent teacher and takes time to engage each student and ensure they gain what they need. She has an amazing ability to explain things in such a clear, calm way that she makes everyone feel included and comfortable asking questions. She also gives amazing patient care and has demonstrated her dedication to our community by her work giving bamlanivimab infusions. She was challenged with meeting the demand of giving a large amount of vaccines and has really taken on owning this process and accommodating our patients.

When numbers have been high, she finds a way to meet each patient's needs and not turn anyone away. She also always takes time for everyone she encounters. I was late for a very important meeting and ran into a patient who was clearly short of breath. I was confused about what the patient wanted; when Michelle walked by she stopped and assisted me in figuring out where the patient needed to go. We got her a wheelchair and Michelle volunteered to help the patient and take her to an appointment on the other side of the hospital. We are very lucky to have Michelle at Schneck.

Michelle exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Schneck Medical Center and truly works to put the patient first. Most recently we had a large number of patients that were in need of BAM infusions. Michelle was able to coordinate the care of these patients and ensure that we got them all through before the weekend. During that busy day, we received the order for two additional patients, and she was diligent to get them in and she lead the team caring for the patients that day with ease. There was a lot of speculation around the idea of getting that many patients in and out, but she pressed forward and made it happen.

On another note, she is always willing to help provide education for anyone that needs it. She functions as a facilitator for the nurse residency program, the unit educator and helps provide critical care education to those working the war room. She is currently working on a supplemental education for mainly those that no longer receive ACLS. She believes in our staff, and she wants to see them succeed in everything that they do, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to help them along the way.

Michelle has been a tremendous help in the Infusion center with the extra Covid-19 Monoclonal Antibody patients. Helping get the orders for the medication, patient criteria and all the paperwork that goes with it. She helped set up another area for overflow Covid-19 patients. She is always helpful in any area she is pulled to. Being down a person, she has stepped in and helped schedule, and register new patients in the Infusion Center, along with taking care of patients. During a stressful situation with the Covid-19 patients, she has been a great resource and has been greatly appreciated.
