There are several extraordinary nurses in the SCI/D V2 unit. These extraordinary nurses all have similar traits - they care and do what is right. Miriam Andres is one of those very special nurses.
At the start of the shift, Miriam cheerfully greets patients and checks if there is anything needed for follow-up. She passes on positive encouragement. She respects concerns of patients and other staff members. Miriam listens to the concerns of her patients and communicates her knowledge regarding the issue. She double checks the doctor's order and takes into consideration the patient's point of view and collaboratively solves problems. She projects a positive attitude and has a very pleasant voice and uses positive "healing" words. Time does not limit her willingness to satisfy a patient's immediate needs or concerns, and she does what is needed to do the right thing.
