Despite how much she hates the hospital she trusted Misty and Misty was gentle and kind to her.
My daughter was in the PICU after her baclofen pump surgery for 3 days. Misty was our nurse the entire time and treated my daughter like she was her own kid. My daughter is nonverbal with developmental delays but likes it when you tell her exactly what you’re doing and will cooperate better when you do. Without me even telling her, Misty started talking to her like a person, which as sad as it is, she is often disregarded because she is nonverbal. Despite how much she hates the hospital she trusted Misty and Misty was gentle and kind to her. It was also nice to have another human being to talk to when I was there by myself when she came to check on her. When we got moved to another floor we loved her so much we wanted to take her with us. She made what was a scary experience after a scary surgery that much more calm because of her care.
