Molly McManus demonstrates compassionate caring, provides exceptional communication while always educating patients and their families, consistently focused on meeting all patient and family goals. Molly "makes a difference" in the lives of all of our patients. She listens with her heart as well; she goes above and beyond, especially when there is a critical situation. She always goes to bat for our patients. Molly was a hospice nurse and is the Zen warrior, cornerstone charge nurse, and serves as a primary preceptor for the adult unit.
There is a pleasantly psychotic patient who frequents the Bradley Center because she feels like this is her home. Molly knew that the patient was critically ill after recently being diagnosed with lung cancer, but the patient didn't understand the significance of what was going on with her body. Everyone tried to get the patient hospice care. Still, the patient continued to refuse the help, not fully understanding that Hospice is going to help with the attention to her health situation. Molly sat her down with her calm voice and explained the diagnosis to her, and immediately got the patient to agree to seek hospice care. Hospice came out to speak with the patient. Now the patient will be receiving hospice care. Molly continues to strive to help all patients in our facility. She deserves to be recognized for her outstanding work as a Registered Nurse.
