My son was seen in the emergency room; our nurse was Mona. She was training a new employee while we were there. Her care and compassion for our son was above and above what I expected. I felt guilty for my son's situation (dehydration due to stomach flu) and she helped explain why it happened and how to prevent it in the future. Most of all she did NOT blame me or make me feel like a failure. She made me feel like I did my best and that now I will know what to do the next time he gets sick. She was patient and knowledgeable with the employee she was training.

She would relay what the doctor recommends and would get the doctor when we needed her. I felt comfortable with her ability to care for our son in any way she knew how, and that if she didn't she would ask for help. Mona was happy and I could tell she loves her job and really enjoys helping people. She went above and beyond my expectations and I think she definitely deserves this Award.
