During Monica's time in the ED, she has consistently demonstrated extraordinary skill and compassion in the most challenging times. I have witnessed her manage a critically ill patient with remarkable professionalism and empathy. Despite the high-pressure environment, Monica remains calm and focused, providing clear communication to the patients and their families.

Monica has shown unbelievable empathy and compassion multiple times, but there is one that I had the privilege to witness. We had a patient come into the ED who, unfortunately, was having a very challenging time in their life. After the person expressed the reason for their visit, they asked Monica if she could please clean their feet because they had not been cleaned in quite some time, and stated they were unable to do it for themselves. Monica, without any hint of hesitation or exasperation, stepped right up, gathered the necessary equipment, and provided excellent service to the patient while also caring holistically for them during their stay.

This is just one example of the many times Monica continuously ensures she is dependable not only for the patients and their families but also for our team. Day in and day out, she demonstrates BayCare values no matter what the task may be, and this is why I believe she is a true DAISY Nurse.
