You let me know it was time to hold his hand. I will always be grateful to you. Not a day goes by that I don't remember that night, and I am comforted by your kindness and caring towards my dad.
Dear Morgan,

You cared for my father for three nights in September. You sat and actively listened to me when I voiced that I had been dismissed by another healthcare professional. You came up with a plan to help my father that night. You brought me coffee so I could stay by my father's side throughout the night, and you brought me in a comfortable chair. You allowed me to help you position my father. You answered my mother's questions, listened to her, and gave her comfort. On that Sunday, when my dad decided to make himself comfort care, you showed such grace to my family, and I know there were a lot of us. That man was an amazing person, so loved and admired. When he had said his goodbyes and the majority of my family had left, you cared for my mother and son. You provided blankets, comfort, and patience with each of us. You advocated for my father to get a morphine GTT, but instead, you came in frequently to give him morphine and Ativan to keep him comfortable. You advocated for more robinul. I will always remember how you stopped and listened to my mom when she voiced her concerns during the night. Just shy of the end of your shift, my mom and son took a walk, and you medicated my dad, and we turned him. My mom and son came back. You let me know it was time to hold his hand. I will always be grateful to you. Not a day goes by that I don't remember that night, and I am comforted by your kindness and caring towards my dad. I have met and worked with phenomenal nurses over the past 35 years. You are right at the top.
