November 2016 Honoree
morgan neil, RN, BSN
Morgan was nominated by two families for the DAISY Award. One patient was scared and sad. Morgan went to speak with her and the patient was playing with play-doh. The patient shared with Morgan that she missed her new puppy so Morgan sculpted her a dog out of her play-doh.Morgan visited the patient when she wasn't assigned to the patient for the day and kept all promises, even if it meant staying late.
Another mom wrote that she happened to be a nurse and was out of her comfort zone, thinking of the worst case scenarios and not able to do anything about it, because this was her own child and not her patient. Morgan treated the patient with such compassion, they felt they were her priority. Morgan included the patient in her plan of care and decision making.

Thank you, Morgan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
