March 2016 Honoree
nancy black, MSN, RN
Nancy was interviewing a patient for Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PAT). Although the patient did not require an EKG, based on some information from the patient, Nancy decided to do one. The EKG showed a STEMI. She immediately took the patient to the emergency department, where 2 minutes later a Code STEMI was called. The patient had a cardiac cath and recovered in ICU from an MI.
Nancy's questioning, clinical skills and prompt action either saved this patient's life or prevented more cardiac harm.

Thank you, Nancy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
