I am a pastor of a church in Greenbrier, TN. Recently, I was with one of our church members, Mrs. W, who was having back surgery. The surgery lasted for 10 hours. From the moment we walked into the hospital at 5:30 am, we knew it was going to be a long day and really did not know what to expect. While sitting and waiting for Mrs. W to be called back, that was when we met Mrs. Searcy for the first time. She greeted us with a smile and took the time to get to know each of the family members before taking Mrs. W back. She gave us instructions on the next step and told the family they would get to see her before going into surgery. The thing that blessed my heart about Mrs. Searcy was the way she spoke highly of the doctor, nurses and her co-workers who would be taking care of Mrs. W. She also reminded us to keep the faith that everything was going to be alright. My son and my daughter in law work at Centennial and I told them when they came to check on me. I have met the sweetest nurse and I want to introduce you to her. To my surprise, they already know Mrs. Searcy and both of them spoke very highly of her. When Wednesday started, the family and I did not know what to expect. At the end of the day, we felt like we had the best doctor and we know we had the best nurse. I don't know if Mrs. Searcy smelled any cinnamon rolls that day dealing with all of us, but we sure did, and our experience was something that we stop and for a few moments realized how blessed we were by having this sweet lady on a difficult day.
