July 2022 Honoree
Nannette Phillips, RN
Nannette is a very kind and professional nurse. My husband was in the hospital for a stent procedure; however, it was discovered he was anemic, so the procedure was postponed. There was some confusion as to what the doctors had decided to proceed with. The following day we waited until late afternoon, and there had been no doctor in to explain what their plan was. We told Nannette the issue, and within 30 minutes, three doctors came in to see my husband and explain what needed to be done next. I know Nannette called the doctors and that she was the one who got their attention. After nursing for 30+ years, Nannette knew exactly what we needed - some answers - and she was the one who was responsible for seeing to it that we got the answers from the doctor. We were then more aware of what would happen, which certainly eased our anxiety and frustration. Nannette took very good care of my husband, and I believe she certainly gave TLC to him during a time of worry and frustration.
Thank you, Nannette, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
