Nate brings compassion to each of his patients. He treats everyone with respect and dignity without realizing the impact he makes on them. I appreciate that Nate works hard to make sure each of his patients has excellent care and goes the extra mile to accomplish this. Nate also displays great teamwork and communication within the team of clinicians to ensure the best care for his patients. Nate is an effective communicator with his patients, personalizing the teaching to each of his patients' learning style. He expresses optimism and confidence in his patient's abilities to manage their chronic illness.
One example that I know where Nate displayed excellence, was with a challenging cardiac patient with several other diagnoses. Nate had two major concerns about this patient, his high BS numbers and his concern for his respiratory status. Nate made more than 25 calls on this patient's behalf to his PCP office, for new BS orders and to obtain needed oxygen for this patient. Nathan made these calls in a firm, but professional manner, and I admire the tenacity he showed to help his patient.
Another example of Nate's excellence came from one of our customer service reps who received a compliment about Nate from Dr. L's office. The MA states that she had a great interaction with Nate when he phoned their office to communicate about a patient. She states that Nate was very polite and went out of his way to help both the patient and this office. She states Nate requested an order for a late day lab draw and visited the patient first thing the next day to check on him.
