Nichole is recognized as a nurse educator who creates a learning environment in which students thrive, and was praised for her dedication to students, her compassionate nature, and her ability to balance work and fun.
Each year, the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing recognizes a clinical instructor at the undergraduate level with The DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurse Educators through a collection of student submitted nominations. Nichole received numerous nominations from her students, all highlighting what an outstanding clinical instructor she has been. Nichole is recognized as a nurse educator who creates a learning environment in which students thrive, and was praised for her dedication to students, her compassionate nature, and her ability to balance work and fun. In their nominations, students commented on Nichole’s ability to create a positive and safe learning environment while also continuing to challenge them by integrating games, activities, and thought-provoking questions into her lessons. Her students appreciate the way Nichole looks for new and innovative ways to teach skills and how she takes extra time to ensure students are prepared and confident. Many of her students state that Nichole’s teaching and support have shown them what it means to be a great person and an even better nurse. To quote one of those students, “Nichole is an intelligent, compassionate, and inspiring nurse leader, and she deserves this award.”
