Nicole had a patient who lost his mother in the ICU the day he was a patient on the Observation Unit. He sent a letter to her telling her the impact that she had on his life for being so kind to him. He said that at that time he felt so lonely. Nicole put her hand on his and tried to console him. He called her an angel on Earth and that he would never, ever forget the kindness she showed him. He said he was there by himself, but no longer felt alone knowing Nicole was there with him. He talked of how Nicole cared about what happened to any stranger. He asked her to keep on making an impact on people the way she did with him. Not only is Nicole a great nurse, but through this patient's eyes, she was his angel! In a unit that is usually very busy, Nicole found the time to leave a wonderful, lasting impression on one of her patients.
