Nicolina LaCentra, RN

Nicolina is a wonderful example of what Nurses should be. I came to Halifax in an ambulance, an emergency situation with a fractured pelvis, and the most pain I have ever experienced. I am a survivor of a tragic automobile accident 41 years ago that took the life of my fiancé and left me with everything broken but my arms and neck. I know what pain is after the past 41 years and 42 surgeries, so I am very familiar with hospitals, surgeries, recoveries, and most of all, Nurses! This delightful woman welcomed me to the hospital with a warm "kind of like" welcome home feeling. She is kind, thoughtful, attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly loves her career. I believe she has clearly found her passion for this profession by the way she cares, works hard, and effortlessly makes me and others feel safe and definitely cared for.
