Nihada was so kind, gentle, respectful, and professional.
My husband was a patient on 11300. He has had many surgeries and hospitalizations for a long history of medical problems. I am a retired RN from Barnes-Jewish Hospital and his primary caregiver. When we were assigned 11300 post-surgery I immediately went to the floor and spoke with Nihada. At first, she told me that there were no private rooms available. Due to the numerous medical issues; colostomy, suprapubic catheter, anxiety, sleeplessness, etc., he always does much better when I stay with him. In addition, I was initially told I was not able to stay. I went to see him in recovery and about a half-hour later was told that we were moving to a private room. Nihada had worked magic. Once we got to the room, she told me I could stay that night because it was so late (11 pm). The admitting nurse was busy so Nihada stayed with us for almost an hour, getting him admitted and settled in. She was so kind, gentle, respectful, and professional. The next morning, we were told that I had permission to stay for the remainder of his hospitalization. Once again Nihada had worked magic. This hospitalization could have been a disaster, instead it turned out to be excellent, our best stay yet. Thank you Nihada, our angel and magician.
