Over and over, Obi is celebrated and recognized for his work ethic, infectious smile, and attitude. He truly cares for his patients and that is why he is being recognized today. Obi serves as a role model for patient advocacy and care. Obi is one of our many “cheerleaders” for the MT unit at night. The compassionate and inspirational care he provides to our patients, families, and team members has been recognized and appreciated by many.

Obi recognizes the importance of providing patients the care they need while they are here but doesn’t hesitate to engage in difficult conversations that empower the patient to become an active participant in their own care. Obi was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient, whom he cared for who indicated they were alone. Obi spent time with the patient, providing gentle care and listening to her needs during a time when she felt she had no support. And for that dedication, they are forever thankful.

Obi, you have taught all of us about compassion, teamwork, quality, and perseverance over the last 7 years. We are honored to work alongside you and excited you have been recognized for your dedication to the nursing profession and most of all, our patients.
