Olivia Grimes, Student Nurse

The faculty has this to say about our first recipient: Olivia always arrived to clinical with a positive mindset and shared the same upbeat personality with all of her patients and staff. She showed much determination throughout the semester in all clinical arenas, whether it be learning new skills, answering tough critical thinking questions, as well as going above and beyond to ensure the care she provided was the best it could be. This student embodies many quality attributes that will carry on with her throughout her nursing career ensuring that it will be a rich and fulfilling one.

Throughout her time in clinical this spring, she was handed many difficult and emotionally trying clinical situations; however, each week she excelled. After working hard to help her patients navigate very difficult times in their lives, she ended each day with gratitude for being able to share in these sensitive experiences. Her ability to connect with patients along with her genuine care for others makes her a true DAISY in Training.
