Olivia Nelsen, RN

Olivia was working the night shift. Olivia was the nurse that I was so fortunate to contact regarding my elderly mother who was being treated in the ED. I called Olivia every two hours to receive updates since I was not able to stay with my mother due to COVID. Olivia was extremely attentive, took all of my concerns into consideration, and promised to advocate for myself and my mother. I have never had an experience with any other nurse at Kaweah. I stayed up all night so I wouldn't miss any calls and when Olivia said she would contact me, she did.

I feel that Olivia went above and beyond all while taking care of other patients and their families. I want her to know that I understand being a nurse is not easy. I have a sister who is an RN. The fact that she took time to contact and advocate for myself and my mother means so much more to me and I feel that nominating her for the DAISY Award is the best way for me to show that I appreciate everything she has done.
