Not only is Paige quick to be next to us during a rapid, but she is also quick to coach the ANM team into becoming stronger leaders. Paige demonstrates a vision of safety and is quick to role model this by sprinting to bed alarms, checking CVCs while doing her nurse leader rounds, or taking the time to advocate for lap belts or bed alarms.

I’m lucky to work alongside a leader who not only makes my work environment fun but also makes me feel like I’m a part mission-oriented unit. During the hardships of running a COVID unit during the pandemic, the unit had its dark moments. Paige remained a rock amongst the rapids for the unit leaders and guided the unit ANMs when times were so uncertain. I can honestly say I attribute staying on this unit to Paige’s leadership.  

Paige brings her “why” to work and treats her patients like her “mommom”. Specific examples of Paige promoting compassion on our unit, are when she advocates for ideas to make memorable moments for patients. Whether it’s singing “Happy Birthday” to patients on their special day in the hospital, remembering jokes or small details on her daily rounds, or running down to the gift shop for ponytail holders and nail files; she shows that caring for our patients is more than just medicine, it’s whole person care.  

Paige is quick to promote growth and grow her bench through guidance and encouragement. She is quick to include new leaders in situations for growth. She does not manage, she leads and I’m blessed to work alongside her!
