Pamila made it crystal clear from day 1 that she was going to be R’s biggest cheerleader. From the moment R came back to the ward after a complicated appendectomy that had ruptured, Pamila was there greeting her with a smile and a vomit bucket. For a 13-year-old child, waking up with a strange tube coming out from her belly, draining blood, multiple cuts and dressings on her abdomen, nausea, fatigue, abdominal pain, and fever – this was all just too much. Having Pamila there by R’s side, encouraging her to sit up to eventually stand and walk around, made all the difference. Pamila's dedication, excellence, and compassion were evident in everything that she said and did while taking care of R and also taking care of Mom and Dad. We will be forever grateful to our shining nurse star, who made all the difference in R’s recovery process, both physically and mentally.
