My three month old son was admitted for RSV in July. All the nurses on the pediatric floor were amazing - what a wonderful staff! But one nurse in particular went above and beyond, Pat McMullen.

I was not only the mother of sick baby, but also at nurse at Martin Health System. Even though Pat knew I was a nurse, she spoke to me as a parent, explaining everything. She understood that I was concerned about my child. As a parent it is very difficult to see your baby attached to oxygen and monitors - even if you are a nurse. Pat's experience, kind heart, expertise and knowledge gave me peace of mind. She did a great job in reassuring me that he was going to be okay.

Every time she came in to see my baby, she always asked me if she could get me something. She constantly checked on us. She always took her time with us- like we were her only patient (and I know that was not the case!)

You can tell Pat really loves her job and enjoys working with children. I am so blessed that she was there to make my baby feel better and give me the reassurance needed. It takes someone very special to work with children, which is exactly why Pat is a pediatric nurse. Martin Health System is lucky to have her on their team!
