Patience constantly displays the ICARE values in her daily assignments.  A veteran showed up in the Infusion Clinic. The Veteran who is assigned to the Primary Care Clinic expressed his frustration regarding his high blood pressure reading. The Veteran stated he was coming from the Prime 5 Clinic and did not get the assistance he was seeking. RN Yeboah assured him that she will do her best to help him. During her conversation with the Veteran, RN Yeboah learned that the Veteran was out of his Blood Pressure medication, even though there were remaining refills. RN Yeboah immediately ordered the refills for pick from the pharmacy. RN Yeboah used the opportunity to educate the Veteran on the importance of scheduling follow-up appointments with his Primary Care Provider to ensure that medications, consults, and tests are ordered as needed. The Veteran expressed his appreciation to RN Yeboah, stating how much of a Gem she is and that she would be more effective working in a leadership role, to effect positive and meaningful changes throughout the organization.
