Peyton never acted rushed, and always stayed with us until he was sure there wasn’t anything else we needed.
Peyton was always attentive, providing the family and visitors with anything we needed. He was very knowledgeable of everything happening and what was going to happen and explained it to us well. He gave us privacy when we needed it. Peyton never acted rushed, and always stayed with us until he was sure there wasn’t anything else we needed. He treated Z as if she was the most important patient he had. He always treated her with the utmost respect. He even returned that night for her organ donation at 3 am and we couldn’t believe he came back for that. It meant so much.

Peyton was as good of a nurse as I could have asked to tend to my mother. Through talking to my family, I can’t even begin to appreciate his help to them through the toughest hours at the hospital. I showed up later than the rest due to flying in from out of town, and his demeanor and knowledge of the situation truly made an impact in making me feel more comfortable and understanding the situation. He showed he truly cared. All of that proved he did all he could do in the situation, and that’s all any of us can ask for. He really went above and beyond in sympathy and care for my family.
---
Peyton made a huge impact on my entire family during the four days we spent in the IUC with my mom. My mom ended up there completely suddenly and unexpectedly, and my family had a lot of emotions and thoughts to process during those challenging days. Peyton was right there to help of through it. It’s one thing to take care of a patient, and another to be able to educate family members on the situation and provide compassionate support for their mental and emotional well-being as well, and Peyton did all of that so well.
My mother's last three days in the ICU were spent preparing for organ donation, and Peyton cared for her like she was the most important patient in the world, even when we all knew that she would not be coming back to us. The organ donation process was enlightening and eye-opening for my entire family and proved to be a light in the middle of darkness. We had a lot of questions about the whole process (as we were completely unaware) and Peyton answered each of these questions thoughtfully and thoroughly for us, with a lot of compassion.
He never seemed rushed, made sure we had everything we needed and was always professional. Perhaps the most impactful moment of all of our interactions with him was when we saw him show up for the organ donation surgery at 3:00 am when we knew that that was not during his scheduled shift. That was such a touching moment. He really made a positive impression on each member of my family during those incredibly shocking and upsetting few days in the ICU, and we are forever thankful for his attentiveness, empathy, and kindness toward us.
