Phillip is very compassionate with each individual patient and their families and each staff member. He approaches all patients and staff members with a kind and welcoming demeanor.
Patients First 
Phillip puts patients and staff first in all he does. He allows for patient-focused care in everything he does as our Manager and leader for the units. He makes sure there is enough staff to take care of the patient efficiently and safely. He makes sure that all equipment and needs are met to make for a great patient experience. He strives for nursing excellence for patient-focused care. The units he manages have been ranked highly by patient’s likelihood to recommend and other metrics.

Integrity 
Phillip is a connoisseur of integrity. He adheres to the code of ethics in coordinating care. He abides by honesty and efficiency. He is easily approachable in any issue that may arise. He has developed trust among all staff members. He is very professional in all aspects of his job whether it is dealing with the patients and their families or exchanging with staff members. He is always seeking to do the correct thing in all situations. Phillip is also a great listener to see how to approach the situation correctly and is always willing to listen to new ideas.  

Excellence 
Phillip continuously strives for excellence on all three units he manages (Grayslake Endoscopy, LFH Minor/Endoscopy and Grayslake OR). He is great at time management, cost-effectiveness, and enforcing teamwork among the staff on all his units. As our Manager, he always looks for a new opportunity to learn. He helps coordinate in-services on new developments in our department whether it is with equipment or a new way of approaching a situation. He himself works on improving his skills for better patient outcomes and excellence on the unit. He is currently continuing his education and is pursuing his Nurse Practitioner license. He makes sure we are up-to-date on our certifications and modules. He also strives for our patient’s likelihood to recommend on our unit. 

Teamwork/Collaboration 
Phillip is a purveyor of teamwork. Phillip enforces teamwork in the unit because a team that works together allows for great excellence. Phillip is able to know our strengths and weaknesses in order to work appropriately with each other. He is able to work hand in hand with all of the staff in order to benefit the patient outcomes. Phillip values our team efforts in order to function as a unit. Phillip works with patient care team members to provide coordinated patient care. He has the willingness to put aside individual differences to create a purposeful and respectful work environment among all three units he manages. He works with his staff to accommodate a work-life balance. He motivates staff with a shared vision of teamwork and respect.

Compassionate 
Phillip is very compassionate with each individual patient and their families and each staff member. He approaches all patients and staff members with a kind and welcoming demeanor. He allows the patient and staff members to feel comfortable. He is very compassionate about his job and is an extraordinary role model.

Clinical Expert 
Phillip has great clinical judgment. He performs skills with professionalism and is always willing to learn new developments in standards of care. He also makes sure the staff on the unit are efficient in new standards of care as well as scheduling in-services to adhere to new standards, protocols, and policies.  He is currently pursuing his educational endeavors. He promotes and enhances the image of being a nurse and manager for the organization.

Advocate/Empathetic 
Phillip is an advocate for treating each staff member as an individual. He respects each staff member’s right to privacy. He also maintains the staff’s dignity.  Phillip will support each staff member’s goals. Phillip is a big advocate of continuing education for all staff members. He is a good resource and can point the staff member in the correct direction on how to pursue their education. Phillip communicates understanding to staff members and acts upon it in a therapeutic way to create a caring relationship. He advocates and supports all his units.
