I ended up on the surgical floor following a gallbladder attack. Rachel was the day nurse and not having been in a hospital for a stay, and not knowing what to expect, she was a true advocate for me, the patient, and always knew what was going on, even when I didn’t. There were doctors and nurse practitioners visiting from various departments that I didn’t know where they were from. When I was waiting to get a spot in OR, she followed up. When I sat waiting to be taken to various tests…. she followed up for me. Even on the day of discharge, the surgeon released me but forgot to send the script to the pharmacy before he entered the OR, and there she was checking on that for me.

Some may say that is their job, but I say that she really looked out for me and went above and beyond the call of duty to help me. Everyone needs an advocate when they are in a hospital situation and Rachel what that person for me. Thanks, Rachel!
