Rachel exemplifies the core values of UPMC each and every day. Recently, she took care of a patient who was exhibiting signs and symptoms of withdrawal, and his behavior was escalating. Rachel remained calm, alerted the charge RN, called a condition M for assistance. Respectfully and professionally, she communicated with the patient regarding expectations and boundaries and advocated for him with the team of care providers. This was an excellent display of caring and listening, with dignity and respect. Rachel always has a smile on her face, always has a positive attitude, and is always willing to help her co-workers with patient care. Rachel truly deserves to be recognized as an outstanding employee of UPMC Mercy.
