My son was born 14 weeks early. He is critically stable and every minute I worry about him. His time with us is not guaranteed right now, and it is the worst time of my life. All the nurses have been phenomenal, but Rachel has stood out in particular because of her bedside manner and how well she knows my son. Every time I talk with her, I leave feeling better, even though we cannot determine his chances of survival. These last few days, Rachel has reassured me, and I sleep better at night because of her words, information, and reassurance. I am so grateful for Rachel. I would never want anyone to be where I am, but if they are, I hope to God that their baby has Rachel as their NICU nurse. I know if he survives, a huge part of that will be because of her.
