I think Rahel's genuine personality and charm shine through, and I felt happier and more at ease with her presence.
I am writing to make sure that we give space to recognize an exceptional and gracious individual, Rahel, an RN in the ICU. In July of 2021, I was admitted to the ER twice and also stayed in ICU at Torrance Memorial. The turmoil of being in the hospital as a patient can be extremely difficult both physically and mentally. I wasn't sure what to expect each day, but I felt much comfort when Rahel was caring for me. I found her to be highly intelligent, knowledgeable, kind, and observant. She treated me with respect and compassion but also really listened. In the past, I've had that experience where I knew that something was wrong with my body, but my concerns were dismissed while being assessed because I had the appearance of an overall healthy and young person. As a patient, I really liked that our interactions were not only informative but also a conversation. I think her genuine personality and charm shine through, and I felt happier and more at ease with her presence. Rahel really stood out because a lot of her instincts as an RN cannot necessarily be taught. I am so grateful to know that there are individuals in the healthcare industry like Rahel. That is what anyone wants in life- to be seen, heard, and have quality care. Let's recognize, honor, and appreciate Rahel!
