Surgical and Urology Clinic is blessed to have Rasheed Saleh Alrasheed staff nurse. He started his career as a ward clerk and continued to pursue higher education to become a Registered Nurse. His values to help others, be respectful and caring exemplifies what a strong frontline nurse he is. It has not gone unnoticed how Rasheed takes his own initiative to consistently outperform in his duties and meet the needs of the clinic.
He is unflinching in the face of the challenges faced by the clinic team, he steps up and leads by example. One can see him multi-tasking, diverting distractions easily and remaining focused to meet the needs of patients and their loved ones. He leads by supporting his team and gives credits to others, his kindness is another reason he is approached, and the staff does not hesitate to ask for his help. His body language is open and welcoming, his friendly smile makes one instantly feel at ease, his people skills are recognised and utilised frequently to handle difficult situations.
Rasheed shares his knowledge and he educates patients to understand their illnesses and the options available to them. He provides information in a simple style that is retained by patients and even when the same questions are repeated, Rasheed can be heard reassuring the patients receiving bad news. His empathy is clearly visible, and his positive aura is constant, and patients are vocal in their praise of Rasheed.
He has been the recipient of thank you notes and letters from patients and recognised at the organisational level by our Experience Office Director. He works closely with our multidisciplinary team and maintains excellent therapeutic relationships. Staff from other areas agree to requests when Rasheed is on the line. Rasheed is also named by doctors as a knowledgeable and skilled nurse whom other doctors can learn from.
Rasheed's peers are justifiably proud to have him working alongside them because he engages well with others and elevates the excellent care provided in the clinic. The clinic is being applauded by other departments because Rasheed is acknowledged in executive rounds and his name comes up repeatedly by patients and their family members for providing outstanding service.
