My daughter had a small procedure done recently. Unfortunately, she suffers from very high anxiety and from the moment she found out she had to have this procedure she was a wreck. The day of, she was so upset and terrified we had a hard time even getting her to go. She had convinced herself that by being given general anesthesia, she was not going to wake up. She was crying, sick to her stomach, and in a terrible state of anxiety. I was able to let Rebecca know before she entered the room. Upon entering and until the moment the procedure began, Rebecca was AMAZING. She spent so much time explaining about anesthesia and trying to calm her worries. We could not have asked for a better influence to help her. She was able to calm her down enough that she agreed to go ahead with the procedure and then the most amazing thing happened of all. Knowing how high her anxiety still was, Rebecca offered to accompany her to the OR and stay with her until she was under. The patience, kindness, and love she showed for my daughter was unbelievable and so greatly appreciated. After my daughter was put under, Rebecca even took it upon herself to take a moment and call me to let me know how she did and that everything was going well. She is clearly in the profession where she belongs. I have had many opportunities to be with healthcare providers during my lifetime and truly cannot remember anyone going to the lengths that she did to help my daughter. If anyone deserves to be recognized, it is 100% Rebecca!
