Dr. Burns has gone above and beyond not only any other professor, but also in making us exceptional future nurses. She's taken the time to encourage us when we need motivating, provide support when we don't think we can go another day, and a listener when sometimes we just need someone to hear us. She gets to know students on a far deeper level than just grading our papers. I couldn't have made it through nursing school without her.
She is an exemplary educator and role model to her senior transitions students. As a professor she sets the tone for our professional nursing ethics and shows us how to be professional nursing students as we prepare for our careers. In the classroom she demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and inspires us as students to succeed. Of all professors I have had she by far sets the bar for developing a collaborative relationship with her students and colleagues to better demonstrate her commitment to her students, colleagues and college. Her personal attributes of patience, flexibility, and care allow her to work with her students effectively. Professor Burns is committed to the success of her students and serves as a role model to everyone in the college of nursing.
