August 2021 Honoree
Rebecca Gallagher, RN
A pick-up arrived at the Emergency Department Entrance with an unresponsive 17-year-old patient in need of urgent care. The father stated his son fell and hit his head while working. The father also stated his son became unresponsive during transport to Roper Saint Francis. RN Rebecca Gallagher (Operating Room Nurse) climbed in the back of the pick-up truck without hesitation and began CPR. Rebecca continued CPR until the Emergency Department staff arrived to relieve her and provide further medical treatment. Her quick response and applied training contributed to the preservation of life for this 17-year-old gentleman. On behalf of Allied Universal Security, thank you for being an Extraordinary Nurse who goes above and beyond. Roper Saint Francis is lucky to have Nurses like you that are dedicated to providing aid to anyone in need of medical attention. Please help me recognize RN Rebecca Gallagher for her life-saving efforts.
Thank you, Rebecca, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
