She was my hero, and I would love to have her every time as a nurse, and she felt like family by the end. Always with a smile and always looking out for our well-being, making sure we were comfortable and informed.
Rebecca constantly went above and beyond during my stay for my C-section. She was always available when I needed her for anything. She was a HUGE help with breastfeeding. As a third-time mom, I actually did not know what I was looking for latch-wise because I bottle-fed my other two babies. She was very knowledgeable no matter the questions I had. I was always super excited to see her when she came in for her shift because I knew I was going to have an awesome nurse that day. She is AMAZING!

I am a young mother I came in scared to death of everything. I got an elected induction at 39 weeks I was so scared not knowing what or how anything was going to happen. I am a shy anxious person and just uncomfortable and scared. I labored all day. I wasn’t in much pain but felt judged, stressed, and freaked out. Becca was my night nurse who I had a few weeks prior at the ER for back pain, so seeing a familiar face that evening was great.
After Becca got there, it was time for my epidural. I was terrified and freaked out, but I wanted the epidural because I didn’t want to get too far and not be able to get it. Becca walked me through everything and explained everything. It eased me a little bit, but she stayed by my side and told me everything that was happening and how long I had left, and just kept me informed. She walked me through breathing and was amazing. She was right. It wasn’t too bad. I got checked again and it was time to break my water even though I had an epidural I was scared and again Becca walked me through it and an talked to me while I got it done. She was amazing every 30 minutes I had to be rotated and every time she came in my room, she listened to me and helped me roll and she was always on top of things offering me things to keep me sane and comfortable. She made me feel good, comfortable, and safe.
When it came time to push, Becca walked me through breathing and pushing and was talking to me, explaining what was happening and what was next. Becca was amazing, and I’m so grateful for her. I’m a little upset I didn’t catch her last name. But I felt heard and seen and comfortable. I didn’t once feel judged by Becca, and she went above and beyond. I was scared I was going to have a bad birth story and be scarred and maybe not have another kid, but I was wrong again. I left feeling great or as well as you can after pushing out a baby.
Today, I went back in (a week later) to get my little boy circumcised. I was again terrified to see my baby in pain, and for it all, I came through those doors, and there was Becca smiling and so excited to see us it was a relief, I was offered to stay in the room, but it hurt my heart so I stepped out. Becca took such good care of my baby and made me feel comfortable leaving him with her while we waited to be discharged she checked on us and answered all of our questions and concerns. She kept me and my baby feeling safe and calm.

Always with a smile and always looking out for our well-being, making sure we were comfortable and informed. I loved Becca as a nurse and am so grateful for her and all she did for me and my little young family. I wish I wasn’t so shy and could’ve actually thanked and hugged her in person for being so understanding and caring. Becca deserves this award and so much more! I will forever be grateful to her.
