Becky asked questions and spoke with genuine kindness and understanding. I can tell this is just her normal behavior, but it impacted his life in such a significant way.
I attended an appointment with my significant other today. He was diagnosed with MS a few years ago, and everything is still very fresh for him. That all led us to seeing the doctor today. He was more anxious than he has been in years to attend this appointment, and we were even running 10 minutes late. But then Becky greeted us. And she was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark day. She was friendly and outgoing and honestly made BOTH him and myself feel like we were speaking with a friend. We even found out she has the same birthday as him! I noticed him relax IMMEDIATELY after speaking for a mere minute with Becky, and I want her to know that although his story cannot be summarized here, I will say from the bottom of my heart that her kindness and genuine care for him as a person (and me, too!) helped him overcome some significant issues about the appointment (and so much more) in a way that has made me grateful beyond words.

Had she not been so warm and welcoming, he may have shut down, and all because of how caring she was and how she showed genuine concern and understanding and compassion and humor - just all-around positivity - she made the difference between him giving up on his own health or feeling a sense of hope. It was so refreshing to have someone provide him with a renewed sense of hope all because she took the time to truly CARE about him - and in a way that made him feel like a person, not just a patient.
Her positive energy can be the difference between someone feeling lost versus feeling hopeful, and it warms my heart to know she carries this positive energy with her to other patients who may also need it. I am beyond grateful to her for being amazing at her job and just an amazing human in general. I cannot say enough positive things about her. This type of kindness and ability to connect with another person is a rare quality that should not go unnoticed. Thank you, Becky, for being the hope he needed to keep going.
